Registered Nurse – Perioperative

Requirements:

• Education:
  
  Associate of Science in Nursing (Required);
  Bachelor's degree in nursing (Preferred)
• Licenses/Certifications:
  
  Current RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (Required); CNOR, Peri-op 101, CRASE training (Preferred)
• Experience:
  
  None (Required);
  Previous RN circulator experience, Peri-op 101 course, Scrub experience (Preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe and effective patient-family centered care in the operating room and perioperative services.
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy are maintained.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and communicate the patient's status throughout the continuum of care.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care, ensuring that all surgical practices are adhered to, including site, side, and level checks, and specimen management.
• Administer medications safely and perform necessary interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infections.
• Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth through participation in professional organizations.

Compliance / Notes:

• Participate in required education for applicable programs.
• Agency nurses will be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated.
