The Interventional Radiology/Cardiology RN provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures. This role works collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The RN acts as a patient advocate and is responsible for the direction and supervision of any personnel assigned.

Responsibilities include administering medications as ordered, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with procedures as needed. The RN must recognize and respond rapidly to complications such as arrhythmia, bleeding, and cardiac arrest. During moderate sedation, the RN must continually assess the patient and monitor vital signs. The RN also prepares and organizes sterile instruments and anticipates physician needs during procedures. Documentation of hemodynamic data, pressures, and procedural events is critical to ensuring accurate patient care.

Support tasks include patient preparation, verification of allergies, and management of supplies within the department. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
