American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications along with at least two years of experience.
Details- Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Care for patients ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
- Variable shift schedule including day/evening flex with start times of 07, 09, 11, 13, and 15
- 3 shifts per week at 12 hours per shift
- Shifts may include nights
- Agency nurses may float to other qualified departments before core staff are floated
- Active RN license in the State of Oregon
- Minimum two years of experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- BSN desired but not required
- CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stress, unpredictable situations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and continuously stand or walk during shifts
- Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms
- Triage patients based on severity of condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments per physician orders
- Perform emergency procedures such as wound care and splinting
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
- Document patient care accurately in EHR or paper charts as required
- Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
- Respond to rapid response calls and code blue situations
- Follow infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
- Work environment includes exposure to infectious disease, hazardous materials, and occasionally combative patients
