DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring at least two years of experience and current BLS/ACLS certification.
Details- Clinic-based Interventional Radiology/Cardiology setting
- Provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing invasive interventional procedures such as angiography, embolization, and cardiac catheterization
- Day shift schedule with 2x10-hour shifts per week,
- May be required to take on-call shifts for the Interventional Unit as needed
- Active RN license in the State of Oregon currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- IV certification required
- Minimum two years of experience required, with at least one year in critical care, emergency, cath lab, or IR preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- BSN preferred
- Certifications such as RCIS or NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Conscious sedation training and monitor role experience preferred
- Serves as circulator, scrub, or monitor technologist depending on assignment during interventional and catheter-based procedures
- Administers medications including anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs
- Monitors patients receiving moderate sedation, tracking vital signs, hemodynamics, oxygenation, and level of consciousness
- Collaborates with radiology technicians and physicians to manage contrast allergies and sensitivities
- Assists with patient preparation, positioning, and timeout verification processes
- Performs sheath pulls and vascular access management as needed
- Supports department operations including supply management, room turnover, and equipment maintenance
- Works closely with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, Rad Techs, and nursing leadership
- Provides culturally competent, age-specific patient care
