Treatment Center

Definition of Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care for patients in the Treatment Center. Communicates with Physicians/Nurse Manager/Co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. They are responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care/Standard of Care on admission and carrying out that plan.

Qualifications Education

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Evidence of continuing education is appropriate for skill level and area of practice.

Preferred: BSN.

Licenses/ certifications/ registrations

Required:

Current RN license in the State of Oregon; BLS.

Preferred:
Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty preferred or obtained within 2 years of hire.

- IV certification(s)/Wound Care/etc.

Experience

Required:

None required.

Preferred:
Previous Clinical Experience.

Other
  • Infusion pumps and other medical equipment, computer, printer, photocopier, and patient charts.
  • Ability to provide care for the patient's age-specific, cultural, physical, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and assistance of physician in procedure.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
  • Bilingual English Spanish speaking preferred.

Tactile perception is also important for assessing physical characteristics such as temperature, size, shape, or texture during patient care. Motor coordination is required for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for the use of medical equipment and procedures.
