Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis during the tax season. This role is based in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, and involves preparing and reviewing personal tax returns to ensure accuracy before final approval. If you are skilled in tax preparation and have experience with Ultra Tax software, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a CPA firm.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review personal tax returns, including basic 1040 forms, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.

- Utilize Ultra Tax software to efficiently manage tax preparation tasks and maintain proper documentation.

- Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and provide solutions in a timely manner.

- Deliver high-quality customer service by responding to client inquiries and resolving tax-related concerns.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and deadlines.

- Work closely with senior staff to verify tax returns before final approval and submission.

- Maintain organized records and update client files as necessary.

- Stay informed about changes in tax laws to ensure accurate application during tax preparation.

- Assist in managing workflow during peak tax season to meet firm deadlines.

- Contribute to process improvement by identifying opportunities for greater efficiency in tax preparation procedures. Requirements - Proficiency in Ultra Tax software and familiarity with tax preparation processes.

- Experience preparing personal tax returns, including basic 1040 forms.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors in tax documentation.

- Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.

- Knowledge of current tax regulations and compliance requirements.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during busy periods.

- Previous experience in a CPA firm or tax preparation environment is preferred but not required.
