Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and related equipment;
Monitor patients during dialysis and document vital signs and treatment parameters;
Evaluate vascular access and cannulation per physician orders and state regulations;
Administer or assist with administration of heparin as delegated, monitor for intradialytic complications and intervene as directed;
Maintain safety and cleanliness of dialysis area and equipment, following infection control policies;
Assist in training direct patient care staff under supervision of a nurse;
Support CQI activities and patient education related to dialysis adequacy and home dialysis options;
Document treatment data and ensure nursing signatures on treatment sheets
