Critical Care Registered Nurse - PCU

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with critical conditions, leveraging advanced skills and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions and responses to treatments.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, heparin, and insulin.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertions.
• Engage in hourly rounding and ensure effective communication with patients and families.
• Utilize technology including bipaps, high flow oxygen, and various oxygen delivery systems.
• Perform central line dressing changes and troubleshooting of wound vacs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with critical thinking, EKG rhythm interpretation, and multiple IV skills.
• Preferred experience in peritoneal dialysis, tube feedings, and cardiac care post-procedures.
• Experience with tech support in patient care is advantageous.
