Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implement or execute new and/or current processes and procedures that aid in the efficiency of managing and expanding the IT & Network Security.
- Perform research, analysis, and implement software patches or hardware changes needed for any security or server related deficiencies.
- Evaluates and tests new security-related products, services, and internal tools
- Champion and drive the configuration and maintenance of mission-critical servers and services.
- Monitor existing systems to ensure constant availability of IT services.
- Provides support and mentorship for Systems Engineers and the Network Operations Center
- Ensure all IT services are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching.
- Plans, designs, implements, and supports all security & back-up platforms such as Anti-Virus, Anti-SPAM, Intrusion Detection & Prevention, Firewalls, ADCs,
- Cryptography Systems, SIEM, SOAR, MDM, Snapshots, Back-up software and procedures that ensure data safety.
- Performs network security risk assessments and leads remediation efforts on any security-related events.
- Consistent use of independent discretion over matters of significance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding and practical experience with Microsoft and Linux Server Technologies
- Knowledge of widely accepted information security principles and practices
- Experience in configuration and maintenance of services such as DHCP, DNS, web servers, load balancers, firewalls, ADCs, Identity Management Servers, and VPN Concentrators
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays and participate with on-call rotation.
- Preferred:
- Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java)
- Experience creating automated scripts using python, bash, and Power Shell
- Strong understanding and practical experience with information security protection/detection and authentication systems (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Cryptography, SIEM,
- SOAR, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, ADCs)
