Skilled Laborer - Driller Helper; Memphis Stone & Gravel

LEHMAN-ROBERTS COMPANY – A PROUD TRADITION SINCE 1939. A Granite Company dedicated to manufacturing and placing quality hot‑mix asphalt and surface mining aggregates from our sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel.

Perform duties related to exploration activities as required. May require operating drill and/or other mobile equipment in a continuous production/processing operation and assist in handling and testing samples from the drilling/exploration operation in a laboratory environment.

• Work with the Exploration Lead – Driller in drilling and sampling of soil, sand, gravel, and stone.
• Comply with all company safety rules, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
• Assist in maintaining mobile and drilling equipment (greases, fuels, and minor mechanic work) and other equipment used by the Exploration crew.
• Perform manual labor by assembling and disassembling equipment.
• Maintain and complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Transport equipment to and from each project as needed.
• Assist with surveying and GPS tasks used in the sand and gravel industry.
• Assist with exploration sample analysis (gradations, specific gravity, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Exploration Lead – Driller.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of experience.

• Appropriate training and experience required.
• Experience in the mining industry, particularly in exploration or environmental/geotechnical drilling, is a plus.

• Follow specific directions.

• Stand or walk for long periods.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, carrying tools and equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• See (naturally or with correction).
