Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Baylor Nurse Position Summary
The Baylor Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-quality nursing care to residents during designated Baylor weekend shifts. The Baylor Nurse is responsible for delivering compassionate, resident-centered care, administering medications and treatments, supervising nursing assistants, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations. The Baylor schedule is designed to provide consistent weekend coverage and may include an enhanced pay structure based on facility policy.
Baylor schedules commonly consist of two extended weekend shifts (such as two 16-hour shifts or two 12-hour shifts with an additional weekday shift), depending on facility needs.

- Assess, monitor, and evaluate residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial status.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and facility policy.
- Perform nursing procedures including wound care, catheter care, IV therapy (within scope of practice), enteral feeding, and other treatments as applicable.
- Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly notify the physician and appropriate clinical leadership.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and initiate emergency procedures when necessary.
- Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic medical records.
- Document assessments, interventions, physician communications, medication administration, incidents, and resident responses.
- Complete all required clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise, direct, and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other assigned staff.
- Delegate duties consistent with staff competency and Florida Nurse Practice Act requirements.
- Ensure completion of assigned resident care tasks.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and clinical support to nursing team members.
- Promote residents' dignity, privacy, independence, and rights.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Address resident and family concerns professionally and promptly.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Adhere to OSHA, CDC, CMS, AHCA, and facility safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Report accidents, incidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Participate in mandatory education, competency assessments, and in‑service training.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Florida Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.
- Current Florida Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing.
- Long‑term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in rehabilitation or post‑acute care preferred.
- Baylor or weekend nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
