Animal Medical Center is looking for a Veterinarian Technician/Receptionist to join our fast-paced, collaborative team in Hernando, Mississippi.
We are a well-established, progressive, three-doctor companion animal practice with an additional location in nearby Senatobia. Our veterinary team provides comprehensive care, including preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, reproductive procedures, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and ultrasonography. Our clean, newly remodeled hospital gives our team the tools and environment needed to provide excellent veterinary care.

Job DescriptionAbout the Role
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both the medical and client-service sides of veterinary medicine. As a Veterinarian Technician/Receptionist , you'll help support patients throughout their visit while also making sure clients feel informed, welcomed, and cared for.
On the technician side, you'll assist with patient restraint, triage, laboratory sample collection and processing, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, surgery, medications, and nursing care for hospitalized patients. You'll also communicate treatment plans and instructions to clients and work closely with the veterinary team to provide a smooth patient experience.
On the reception side, you'll greet clients, answer phones, schedule appointments, assist with check-in and check-out, process payments, and help address client questions. You'll serve as an important connection between our clients and veterinary team, helping ensure communication is clear, compassionate, and professional.
What You'll Do
- Provide safe, low-stress patient handling, restraint, triage, and nursing care.
- Collect and process blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples.
- Assist with laboratory testing, digital radiology, dental radiographs, anesthesia, and surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and assist with monitoring hospitalized patients.
- Greet clients and their pets and provide exceptional veterinary customer service.
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, assist with payments, and support efficient hospital flow.
- Communicate veterinary treatment plans, instructions, and services clearly.
- Maintain accurate medical records and client histories.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, technicians, and other veterinary team members.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a dependable, positive team player who is comfortable in a busy veterinary environment and genuinely enjoys helping both people and pets.
- At least 2 years of veterinary technician experience and 1 yr veterinary receptionist experience required
- CVT/RVT/LVT credentials are a plus.
- Knowledge of preventative care, surgery, anesthesia, and veterinary hospital workflow.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable learning veterinary software, technology, and hospital systems.
- Ability to accept feedback and continue developing yourveterinary knowledge and skills.
- Weekend availability required.
