Senior Accountant

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a hybrid position (Thursdays on site).

The ideal candidate will be a technical accountant with an understanding of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers and/or ASC 842 Leases, as well as a background in financial reporting and analysis.

• Monitor large volumes of data and ensure data is accurately organized and up to date, maintaining a clear overview of the status.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess the revenue recognition method under ASC 606, then document the analysis and conclusions clearly and comprehensively.
• Prepare and review lease-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and disclosures in accordance with ASC 842.
• Create and maintain lease accounting schedules and reports.
• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Provide support for ad hoc projects and additional analyses as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA certification
• Minimum of 2 years of prior public accounting experience (Big4 preferred)
• Experience with at least 2 busy seasons
• Auditing Assurance experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Knowledge of ASC 606 and/or ASC 842 standards
• Experience in the Government Contracting industry
• Familiarity with the following software:
  Lease Query, Sales Force, Google Suite, Share Works

• US Citizenship

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
• Must be able to provide accurate information in these situations
