Data Center Development Associate

Overview

We’re partnered with a fast-scaling data centre developer delivering build-to-suit projects across the Mid-Atlantic. As they continue to expand, they’re looking to bring on someone early in their career who understands how projects are built on the contractor side and wants to move into a developer environment.

This role is ideal for someone currently working for a general contractor on data centre projects who is looking to step closer to the ownership and decision‑making side.

You’ll work directly alongside development and project leadership, supporting the delivery of large‑scale data centre projects from early‑stage planning through construction.

This is a rare opportunity to transition from a contractor role into a developer platform and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle.

• Coordinate with general contractors, consultants, and vendors on‑site and remotely
• Assist with schedule tracking, cost reporting, and project documentation
• Review drawings, RFIs, and submittals alongside senior team members
• Participate in site walks and support construction oversight activities
• Help manage project risks, timelines, and key milestones

• 2–5 years’ experience with a general contractor
• Currently working as a:
  • Project Engineer
  • Field Engineer
  • Assistant Preconstruction Manager
• Hands‑on experience working on data centre or other mission critical projects
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site coordination
• Ambition to move into a developer or owner‑side role
