Suffolk is a national contractor that focuses on construction and infrastructure projects, including mission critical data centers.
Responsibilities- Create, communicate, enforce and identify opportunities for improvements in safety programs
- Foster Suffolk's "Safer Together" safety culture
- Mentor and supervise Safety Managers as required by VP, EHS
- Provide expertise on project‑specific safety processes and document storage
- Coordinate and facilitate trade partner and subcontractor Pre‑Construction Safety Planning Meetings, ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, local, NFPA standards
- Review all Trade Partner / Subcontractor Site Specific Safety Programs and Pre‑task Plans prior to mobilization
- Conduct scheduled site evaluations, track corrections of deficiencies
- Attend and monitor Tool Box Talks conducted by subcontractors for documentation and quality
- Perform root cause and accident investigations, collect incident reports and work with Risk Managers
- Coordinate with Regional Risk Managers to identify claim trends and proactive risk management
- Ensure proper training documentation from all trades and subcontractors
- Conduct internal training for OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER and other safety topics
- Seeking candidate with proven safety track record in mission critical data center construction
- Experience in all phases: civil, steel erection, high voltage, underground utilities, substation and related MEP requirements
- Must embody Suffolk's core values:

- Knowledge of federal, state, local safety regulations and building codes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required
- Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer
- Professional CHST certification
- Demonstrated leadership with construction and safety technologies
- Customer‑service orientation
- Completed required internal training with Learning and Development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong planning, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Collaborative, positive in directing people
- Ability to coordinate with field staff and external partners
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Decision‑making ability with confidence
- Sound business judgment
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and multi‑task
The role requires regular sitting, use of keyboard and telephones, fine motor skills. The employee will stand, walk and reach frequently. Specified vision abilities include close, distance, depth perception and focus adjustment. Work is in an office environment with moderate noise level, and occasional job‑site walk‑ins.
