The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, kid-friendly, and confident teaching strong fundamentals (time, technique, reading, coordination) while keeping students engaged and progressing.

What You'll Do

  • Build lesson plans tailored to each student’s age, level, goals, and musical interests.
  • Teach core fundamentals: time/feel, coordination, technique, reading, dynamics, grooves, fills, and repertoire.
  • Prepare students for recitals and performance opportunities.
  • Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and adult students regarding progress and practice expectations.
  • Maintain consistent weekly availability and reliable attendance.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong drum proficiency and the ability to teach beginners through intermediate levels (advanced a plus).
  • Experience teaching drums and/or leading youth programs, OR meaningful performance experience with the ability to teach.
  • Comfort working with kids and families; clear communication and professional demeanor.
  • Reliable transportation to our location.
  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule, especially weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays.
Hiring Process
  • Phone interview
  • On-site audition + mock lesson (guidelines provided in advance)
  • Offer contingent on successful background check
