• Knowledge of math vocabulary
• Skill in teaching the math concepts as they apply to the math level taught
• Ability to apply and integrate mathematical concepts
• Ability to introduce the mathematics curriculum to meet the needs of individual students
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing with the Lead Teacher, staff, students, and parents.
• Ability to integrate and expand mathematical concepts using creative, ‘hands on’ projects, manipulative and literature
• Ability to speak English fluently and use English in a grammatically correct fashion.
• Ability to remain flexible and to respond to schedule changes or unexpected task assignments with a calm demeanor.
• Ability to assist lead teacher with observing and evaluating students work to determine progress.
• Ability to use or learn to use, a classroom smart board.
• Ability to pass background check

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and 1 year teaching experience preferred, but not required

Work is generally performed in a classroom setting with periodic field trips to various locations. Some assigned duties may be performed in inclement weather

Constant movement around the classroom is necessary to maintain close contact to students and to respond to their needs. In addition, bending and lifting is necessary to set up classrooms, to gather supplies, perform duties, and to assist children, as necessary. It is essential teachers develop a warmth and friendliness with students and parents.
