Classroom Support- Support lead teachers with daily classroom activities.
- Assist with meals, nap, diapering/toileting, and transitions.
- Help prepare and clean up classroom activities.
- Keep classrooms clean and organized.
- Follow each classroom's daily routine.
- Actively supervise children at all times.
- Maintain proper ratios when assigned to a classroom.
- Assist with playground supervision.
- Help with transitions between classrooms and activities.
- Report safety concerns or incidents immediately.
- Move between classrooms as needed.
- Provide coverage for staff breaks, lunches, and absences.
- Assist classrooms with higher needs or staffing changes.
- Be prepared to adjust responsibilities throughout the day.
- Follow the Lead Teacher's direction.
- Work cooperatively with all classroom staff.
- Support a positive classroom environment.
- Communicate important information to the Lead Teacher or administration.
- Arrive on time and ready to work.
- Follow school policies and procedures.
- Maintain professionalism with children, families, and staff.
- Limit personal cellphone use while working.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Be dependable and willing to help wherever needed.
Floater Teacher Assistant – Daily Duties
- Cover teacher breaks and lunches.
- Move between classrooms as needed.
- Help maintain classroom ratios.
- Assist with arrival and dismissal.
- Help children wash hands and use the bathroom.
- Assist with diapering and toileting.
- Help during meals and snacks.
- Assist with nap/rest time.
- Set up and clean up activities.
- Prepare classroom materials.
- Help with classroom cleaning and organization.
- Support teachers during transitions.
- Assist with outdoor/playground supervision.
- Help children with coats, shoes, and personal belongings.
- Support teachers with activities and small groups.
- Step into classrooms when a teacher is absent.
- Help with challenging transitions or busy periods.
- Communicate important information to the Lead Teacher.
- Help wherever needed to keep the school running smoothly.
- Must meet Virginia licensing requirements.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must complete required background checks.
- Ability to work with infants through Pre-K.
- Ability to lift, bend, sit on the floor, and actively participate with children.
- Flexible, dependable, and comfortable working in different classrooms.
- Previous childcare or preschool experience.
- CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework.
- Comfortable working with infants through Pre-K.
- Bilingual skills.
- Strong communication skills.
