kW Mission Critical Engineering is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our kW office in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of Engineers, Designers and other staff through project completion; manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare project work plans, proposals, and schedules, and obtain management/client approval.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status and project quality; proactively resolve issues.
  • Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients and vendors, regulatory authorities and technical agencies, and the public; keep stakeholders informed of progress and issues to manage expectations.
  • Proactively track, analyze and report on actual performance against the plan; prepare cost and schedule reporting for clients and internal processes.
  • Address change management matters promptly with clients and internal departments.
  • Internal reporting includes: monthly project financial forecast, project budget maintenance, and KPI monitoring.
  • Analyze project management and delivery risks; establish contingency plans and trigger actions.
  • Lead and manage business development initiatives including RFIs and RFPs; compile scope of work and prepare fee estimates for approvals.
  • As Team Leader, provide mentoring, assistance, encouragement and motivation to team members; provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project.
  • Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence; schedule and facilitate project meetings; administer subconsultant agreements as assigned.
  • Implement and manage the kW Quality Control Plan for each project; proactively track workload management; manage client and subconsultant invoicing.
Qualifications
  • Required: A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or construction management.
  • Experience: 5-7 years in Project and/or Program Management on large engineering/construction projects; experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing scope, quality, time and cost.
  • Environment: Experience in an engineering consulting environment preferred; familiarity with project delivery models; planning, risk, cost and schedule management; KPI reporting.
  • Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication; ability to present to senior management, elected officials and the public; strong interpersonal skills; clear, concise communication with stakeholders; strategic and analytical thinking; adaptability; negotiating skills; proficiency with MS Office and project management tools; familiarity with reading drawings and specifications.
  • Other: Ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and health, safety, and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project or Program Management Professional certification (PMP) or degree in related field such as Engineering or Planning, or equivalent.
