We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Bridge Project Manager to lead and deliver bridge and transportation structure projects throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.
This role is suited for a senior bridge engineer transitioning into or actively operating in a client‑facing project management capacity. The position emphasizes project leadership, client coordination, schedule and budget oversight, and technical review of bridge and structural design work.
Position Responsibilities- Lead bridge and structural projects in alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
- Serve as primary client point of contact and manage expectations
- Oversee technical bridge and structural design work (review and decision‑making; not daily production design)
- Develop and manage project management plans, schedules, staffing plans, and quality plans
- Monitor project performance and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Manage subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Prepare and review progress reports, invoices, and status presentations
- Communicate financial performance and project updates to internal leadership
- Mentor staff and support professional development
- Support business development efforts, proposals, and client interviews
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus, ABET‑accredited)
- 10+ years of bridge and structural design experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Virginia preferred; must be able to obtain VA PE if licensed elsewhere)
- Demonstrated project management experience or clear progression into a PM role
- Experience managing scope, schedule, and budget
- Experience working with VDOT and Virginia local agencies
- Experience with Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, or P3 delivery methods
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams

Compensation & Relocation
Base salary: $140,000–$170,000 (commensurate with experience)
Relocation signing bonus available (paid after 90 days)
