Senior Supplier Quality Engineer; Infrastructure Reliability & Quality Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The role of Senior Supplier Quality Engineer focuses on ensuring the highest level of initial quality and ongoing support from our vendors, interfacing daily with AWS Engineering, Procurement, and suppliers to manage infrastructure equipment quality.

• Develop, implement and maintain the Supplier Quality roadmap for complex electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure equipment to meet technical and quality requirements.
• Manage complete equipment lifecycle quality, working closely with suppliers, engineering, procurement, and other internal stakeholders.
• Improve equipment quality by identifying and closing gaps through detailed on‑site audits to ensure suppliers’ quality systems, products, and processes meet AWS Quality and product specification requirements.
• Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Programs, tracking supplier performance and setting goal‑aligned key performance indicators.
• Develop critical‑to‑quality parameters, perform inspections and functional testing for complex equipment to ensure defect‑free, high‑quality delivery to AWS and its customers.
• Review historical failures, equipment design changes, and lessons learned to incorporate relevant inspections & tests and update equipment technical specifications.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure equipment and critical components, collaborating with cross‑functional teams such as reliability and design engineering.
• Evaluate and validate complex root‑cause analysis reports from a technical perspective using critical thinking and quality principles.
• Develop new product and/or supplier qualification plans in terms of quality, driving the program from prototyping to mass‑production for complex equipment in AWS data centers.
• Perform data analysis on failures reported during the equipment life cycle, create technical reports to provide design and specification improvement inputs, and drive improvements at supplier factories.
• Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
• Demonstrate a can‑do attitude and thrive in a fast‑paced work environment.
• Require 30‑50% international and domestic travel.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years in a quality management function with direct interaction with suppliers.
• 8+ years in Electrical, Mechanical Product manufacturing, supplier quality.

• Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
• 8+ years of working with external suppliers.
• Experience with data center operations and infrastructure equipment.
• Ability to manage multiple qualification activities and development schedules.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
