Description
As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers that remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, or add new services. You will be the go‑to engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. Using your electrical expertise, you will:
- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
- Prepare and review short‑circuit coordination studies and maintain the software models to match as‑built site conditions.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
- Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline during new remediation projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
- Lead projects to fit out data centers to meet evolving customer needs as the fleet expands to hyper‑scale.
- Possess strong engineering judgment and provide design and recommendations despite uncertainty.
- Be detail and data oriented with familiarity with design and construction processes.
- Manage engineering projects and engineering consultants.
- Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (Operations, Commissioning, Construction, and Design).
- Manage design and as‑built drawings and documents.
- Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders.
- Be inclined to get into the field to see things up close.
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Experience in commissioning.
- Professional Engineer license.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Benefits and CompensationThe base salary range for this position is – USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
