Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep the cloud running. Our team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers collaborates across AWS to deliver safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Job Responsibilities- Build strategic plans for new mechanical solutions and methods to reach maturity for global deployment.
- Build trust and relationships with stakeholders such as reliability, operations, design, and compliance.
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones.
- Explain complex systems in clear, concise language.
- Develop product roadmaps and listen to the voice of the customer to understand technical and business requirements.
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to design new products.
- Contribute to the global body of knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
- Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers – Technical, Mechanical Engineers, and Principal Engineers to innovate, create, and deliver holistic programs. Ensure all products are production‑ready at launch by meeting financial, technical, supplier, testing, operations training, and other requirements for global deployment.
About the TeamThe Mechanical Products & Services team within AWS Data Center Engineering provides engineering expertise and design support for mechanical equipment in data centers worldwide. The team supports new products, design features for mechanical cooling systems, and lifecycle management of mechanical products, as well as global remediation and business improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 7+ years of end‑to‑end product delivery experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of direct work with engineering teams.
- 5+ years of water treatment experience.
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
- Experience owning and driving roadmap strategy and definition.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering focusing on Thermal/Cooling Solutions.
