You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for co‑location data centers, legacy facility upgrades, and general capital endeavors.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor‑owned and operated co‑location data center infrastructure to determine fit‑for‑use/fit‑for‑service.
• Influence AWS’ design and specification requirements to meet our business needs for AWS co‑location products.
• Investigate and document root‑cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures.
• Work with vendors and local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and codes.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to properly test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of critical electrical/mechanical/fire suppression/controls systems/structural systems.
• Support Operations, data scientists, and other business partners to determine utilization, efficiency, and performance analysis on critical systems.
• Travel to Data Center sites as required – International & Domestic (up to 50%).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning specific education courses.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Experience using a variety of web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

Base salary range: 96,600. USD annually (USA, VA, Herndon).
