Senior Manager of DC Infrastructure Engineering, Design Engineering; AMER

Overview

The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) Manager to join our highly collaborative leadership team, responsible for all data center designs across the U.S. Eastern Region. This role focuses on delivering world‑class data center capacity while emphasizing safety, security and efficiency, and on driving continuous design advancements.

• Lead DC Infrastructure Engineering Design in AMER, including establishing design requirements for owned and leased facilities.
• Conceive, initiate and lead projects with widespread impact on infrastructure design, innovation and implementation.
• Set the standard for engineering, testing and best practices; drive process improvements across the organization.
• Decompose complex problems into straightforward and actionable solutions.
• Serve as a technical advisor for AWS datacenter architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical or constructability designs.
• Work with internal teams to understand new rack cooling power and space requirements.
• Work with local agencies having jurisdiction and certification agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.
• Engage with AWS engineering community and internal customers, including procurement, construction and real estate.
• Self‑perform engineering on most projects, ensuring significant influence and immediate impact.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.

• Experience managing teams of 20 people or greater.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of data center design, HVAC design or related product development experience.

• Professional Engineer License.
