Amazon Web Services is hiring a Senior Product Design Electrical Engineer to support mechanical product development for our Mechanical Products and Services team. The team is an AWS Data Center Engineering global engineering team, responsible for the design and continuous innovation for products used within our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

As a product engineer at Amazon, you will be working with other internal groups as well as external groups including engineering service providers, manufacturers, vendors, inspectors, third party testing labs and contractors.
Amazon has a global presence. Travel will be necessary but shouldn’t be more than 30%. International support will be part of the job, and some international travel may be necessary. Your contribution could consist of leading international projects and could require developing engineering information packages. An understanding of international electrical product design requirements is helpful but not necessary.
Key Job Responsibilities- Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
- Lead electrical new product design, development and qualification of critical mechanical cooling products for AWS datacenters with primary focus on Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and External Heat Rejection (EHR) technologies.
- Develop Capex and Opex spending budgets taking into account development costs with vendors, prototyping needs, testing and specialized tooling requirements.
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment and components, ensuring tier 2-3 supply chain resiliency.
