Navigation Engineer (Experienced or Senior) – The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Electronic & Intelligence Systems seeks a navigation engineer to deliver best solutions for today’s complex undersea engineering challenges, ranging from autonomous unmanned undersea vehicles to integrated underwater solutions.
Responsibilities- Support development of cutting‑edge models, simulation tools, and navigation strategies for systems using sensor‑aided navigation techniques in undersea environments.
- Evaluate system‑level requirements and establish navigation system design requirements to support design realization.
- Collaborate with top navigation equipment suppliers, military experts, and civilian experts to design products and review data to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Develop and analyze navigation system mechanisms, error and performance models, and component error budgets.
- Collect and review data from hardware‑in‑the‑loop and system/component tests to measure and validate navigation performance against design requirements.
- Evaluate candidate sensor systems to increase navigation performance, decrease cost, and ensure compliance with requirements.
- Analyze system and component test results to identify trade opportunities that optimize performance, cost, or other attributes.
- Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
- 3+ years of related experience for level3 or 5+ years for level
4. - Experience in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineering.
- Experience developing or using modeling and simulation tools such as Python or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Software development and programming experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- Current Tier5 (T5) clearance or agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
- Active CI polygraph.
- 1+ year experience with Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) efforts.
- Programming skills in C/C++ with strong software development practices.
- Experience implementing algorithms in real‑time systems.
- Knowledge of estimation theory, Kalman filtering, sensor‑aided or inertial navigation.
- Advanced mathematical knowledge applied to aerospace analysis and modeling.
- Experience with middleware and Agile work environments.
Experienced (level3) typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related work experience. Lead (level4) typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of related work experience. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
Compensation & BenefitsPay Range – Level3: $114,750 to $155,250. Level4: $138,550 to $187,450.

Relocation & Other InformationRelocation assistance may be provided based on candidate eligibility.
