Overview
Amazon internships are full‑time positions, Monday‑Friday, 40 hours per week, typically 8 am‑5 pm. Interns work in office settings and must not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the workday. Applicants must have at least one quarter of studies remaining after the internship.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers.
- Provide project oversight and review across disciplines (electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural).
- Identify areas for improvement and act on data from other teams and organizations.
- Design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams on projects including electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
- Communicate with vendors, people, and teams with a high level of customer service.
- Field‑based role in Virginia, Oregon, Ohio, Texas, Georgia, or Washington.
- Daily onsite hours may start as early as 6 am.
- Requires a driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel among data centers.
- Enrollment in a U.S. academic program.
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics.
- Experience using web‑based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
- 18 years old or older.
- Commit to a minimum 12‑week internship, 40 hours per week.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field.
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies.
- Prior relevant internship experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
