ResponsibilitiesThe Cloud Engineer/Systems Administrator will perform the following but not be limited to:
- Design, provision, and support a fault‑tolerant infrastructure leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS) inclusive of EC2 instances running Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows, EBS, EFS, S3, and Glacier storage solutions, AWS Directory Service and Route 53, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, and Config, AWS CLI, Cloud Formation, SNS and SQS, Autoscaling, Lambda, AWS Work spaces, AWS Systems Manager, Amazon VPC, VPC ACLs, VPN, Firewall, Availability Zones, and Amazon ELB.
- Conduct administration, operations, and support for cloud‑based servers and assure the quality of software‑product releases.
- Evaluate and manage AWS usage costs and operational costs.
- Develop and support automated processes.
- Deliver hands‑on engineering, administration, and technical support.
- Provide guidance as a subject‑matter expert on product design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation for applications that run on AWS.
- Implement systems‑security requirements (DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, etc.).
- Perform problem diagnostics, troubleshooting, and development of solutions.
- Assist customers with product‑related issues.
- At least 2 years of experience using AWS services and Linux server administration.
- Experience with implementing security on AWS with VPC, IAM, security groups, UTM solutions, NACLs, etc.; provisioning and scaling infrastructure on AWS.
- Experience architecting and designing infrastructure on AWS.
- Experience with AWS management tools such as Cloud Watch and Cloud Trail.
- Experience with Linux and strong UNIX shell scripting.
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.
- Systems‑administration and/or security certifications.
- Knowledge of Windows and Power Shell scripting.
- Knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP.
- Familiarity with Splunk.
Active TS SCI clearance required; must obtain and maintain a polygraph clearance. Minimum of 2 years of operations and maintenance for a medium to large‑scale virtual environment.
EducationBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field (experience may be used in lieu of a degree).
Compensation Range TransparencyThe targeted annual combined range for this position is 131,000–271,600 USD. The actual amount offered will be within that range, depending on education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, and other factors as determined by the selection process.
