Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Electrical Engineer
As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, remediating issues, upgrading existing infrastructure, or adding new services. You will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation and act as the go‑to engineering resource for these projects.
Key Responsibilities- Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and increase sustainability.
- Prepare and review short circuit coordination studies; maintain software models to match as‑built site conditions.
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for data centers in your region.
- Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Act as a technical subject‑matter expert for your discipline during new remediation projects.
- Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil and gas).
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
