Immediate opening for a Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Electrical Engineer in the IAD region. As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Senior Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers that remediate issues, upgrade existing infrastructure, or add new services. You will be the go‑to engineering resource from design through implementation and provide lifecycle support.

• Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.
• Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for data centers in your region.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline during new remediation projects.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

• Possess strong engineering judgement and provide design and recommendations amid uncertainty.
• Be detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes.
• Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.
• Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (Operations, Commissioning, Construction, Design).
• Manage design and as-built drawings and documents.
• Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders.
• Be inclined to visit the field to see things up close.

Each day you will interact with teams responsible for all data center aspects. You will prioritize activities to support data center safety, remediation projects, capacity, and availability, focusing on the most impactful actions. You will work on projects locally and globally.

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.

• Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
