Amazon is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to lead the design, integration, and optimization of automated systems that power our large-scale retail and e commerce fulfillment operations. In this role, you will own PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for conveyors, robotics, and material handling equipment, driving reliability, safety, and throughput in a fast-moving, customer-obsessed environment. You'll collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to troubleshoot complex issues, implement standards, and support commissioning of new systems.
Using data-driven insights, you will identify performance gaps and deliver continuous improvements. Responsibilities
- Design, program, and optimize automated control systems for high-volume retail fulfillment operations
- Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions to improve reliability, throughput, and safety
- Lead system integration of conveyors, robotics, and material handling equipment
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot electrical and controls issues
- Implement standards for controls architecture, documentation, and code quality
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams on new initiatives
- Support commissioning, testing, and startup of new equipment and lines
- Use data analytics to monitor system performance and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with electrical, safety, and cybersecurity standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support vendor and contractor coordination
