Heavy Maintenance Operations Leader
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Heavy Maintenance Operations Leader to join our Customer Engineering Support department based in Herndon, Virginia.
The Heavy Maintenance Operations Leader will join the Customer Care Centre Operations whose mission is to support our worldwide customers (airlines and MRO) in a timely manner by delivering technical solutions supporting their operations 24/7.
The jobholder will ensure a strong operational drumbeat and efficient resolution of the heavy maintenance structure repair dossiers for our worldwide Airbus customers, covering the entire Airbus fleet, except A220 (support managed from Mirabel, QC), and for all structure ATA chapters.
The Heavy Maintenance operations manager will report operationally to the regional Heavy Maintenance Program Manager and functionally to the Head Of Structure Repair Excellence (AOG and heavy maintenance - SBCA5).

Your challenges:
- Within the framework of the Airbus Customer Services policy and processes, the jobholder is responsible for the global prioritization of the Heavy Maintenance structure repair queries and dossiers (non-AOG), on Airbus fleet operations for all Programs.
- The heavy maintenance operations leader works actively with each heavy maintenance team worldwide, incl. China, France, Malaysia, and USA teams, and with the SBCA Global operations manager.
- Defines priorities based on overall Return To Service planning and customers expectations.
- Identify key MSNs in heavy maintenance for which a departure / RTS is imminent from scheduled maintenance visits & Follow-up these MSNs using all tools available
- Drumbeat priority with in-service Engineering and office of Airworthiness teams in order to meet the RTS, if and when further push required beyond operational lead actions .
- Synchronize worldwide priorities and decide to upgrade/ downgrade priority level for every hot HM dossier
- Follow the MSN Dossier Status
- When required, support Customer Relationship Manager with communication to customers on escalations
- Ensure escalation cases quantity does fit with minimum remaining capacity to treat AOGs (close synchro with Airtac Duty manager)
- Take the ownership of strategic decisions for the escalated MSNs with the rights to overrule operational process
- Lead the heavy maintenance teams in the resolution actions of escalations
- Act as focal point for in-service engineering workflow managers in the frame of identified A/C
Your boarding pass:
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering (BSc/BEng) degree or equivalent relevant airline or MRO experience in the field.
- 6+ years Engineering/Technical experience in an Airline/OEM/MRO environment, with understanding of aircraft structure (design, fatigue, materials…) and structural repairs, or mechanical systems.
- 10% Domestic and possible international travel.
