Controls Engineer

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to deploy and integrate control systems that support data center capacity delivery. You will design, configure, and commission PLC, SCADA, and BMS systems for new and expanding AWS data centers, ensuring reliable operation of power and cooling infrastructure. Partner with design, construction, and operations teams to implement automation strategies, validate system performance, resolve defects, and drive continuous improvement using data and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy PLC, SCADA, and BMS control systems for AWS data centers
• Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to deliver new capacity on schedule
• Commission and validate control systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation of power and cooling
• Troubleshoot control system issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including control narratives and drawings
• Use data and metrics to optimize system performance and support continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with AWS standards, industry codes, and safety requirements
• Support global scalability of control system designs and deployment processes
