Location: Herndon - hybrid flexibility offered after training

Assignment Type: 6-month contract with potential for contract-to-hire

Compensation
: $23-25/hr

Requirements:
  • AS or BS degree preferred
  • 1-3 yrs experience collecting on consumer loans (personal loans, credit card loans, auto loans)
  • Comfortable in a high-volume environment and strong communication
Job Description
  • Monitor and manage the Overdraft Privilege Program (ODP) reports daily, addressing both internal and external ODP-related inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with members and the Collections Agency to establish Fresh Starts, posts payments, and maintains account files.
  • Handle charge-offs and escalate significant issues or concerns to the Debt Resolutions Manager.
  • Keep accurate records, notes, and reports of all collections activities.
  • Respond to disputes from Credit Bureau Agencies to ensure that account information is reported correctly.
  • Contact overdue accounts via phone and mail, taking the necessary steps to bring them current.
  • Use effective collections methods to maintain positive relationships with members while minimizing losses.
  • Evaluate the financial situation of delinquent borrowers to identify possible hardship modifications.
  • Collect payments on returned checks, delinquent property, taxes, and negative shares, freezing shares when required.
  • Submit delinquent loan activity to the supervisor.
  • Have a basic understanding of bankruptcy and garnishment laws.
  • Log new bankruptcy cases and bank attachments following established procedures.
  • Report trends in loan underwriting that contribute to delinquent or charged-off loans.
  • Gather delinquent loan data for the Debt Resolutions Manager.
