Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, Data Center Planning Delivery

Job  | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain – and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

We’re seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA to oversee data‑center build projects. You will lead cross‑functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non‑value‑add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Manage stakeholder relationships to influence and deliver highly challenging schedules.
  • Proactively solve complex problems during program execution.
  • Lead large‑scale projects, with a preference for construction or data‑center installation projects.
  • Apply project management tools, methodologies, and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking.
  • Use MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint; additional experience with Tableau, Kan Ban, Playbook, SQL, and systems integration is a plus.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (e.g., network, data center, hardware, software).
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or advanced professional certifications in management of complex, high‑value technology infrastructure projects.
