IT Support, Systems Engineer, Network Administrator
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Responsibilities- Scale support of several data center locations and assist day‑to‑day capacity management.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Work closely with Network Engineering and Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, including network device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Up to 20% travel within the geographical work area may be required; some travel outside the traditional work area may be requested.
- Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Effective prioritization and time management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks.
- Network implementation and troubleshooting skills combined with a proven documentation methodology.
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an entire scheduled 8‑hour shift with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more.
- Walk job sites in uneven terrain.
- Work safely at heights and from ladders.
- 1+ year of computer networking experience.
- 1+ year of Linux operating system experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).

The base salary range for this position is 30.00 – 54.00 USD hourly (USA, VA, Herndon). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
