Senior Applied AI Solutions Architect, Federal Financial

Job Overview

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Applied AI Solutions Architect to support our Federal Financial Regulatory customers in the Arlington, VA and Washington, DC area. The selected candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the customer.

• Act as Subject Matter Expert for designing applied AI solutions that automate workflows, accelerate decision‑making, and drive down costs for federal financial regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with specialist and generalist solutions architects to enable large‑scale customer use cases and drive adoption of AI/ML across the federal financial portfolio.
• Provide technical guidance on AI/ML engagements to customers and field solutions architects.
• Develop white papers, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage applied AI on AWS.
• Produce field enablement materials for the broader solutions architect population.
• Engage customers at executive, data‑scientist, and developer levels to understand business needs and translate them into AI/ML solutions.

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or internet industries.
• Associate’s degree or higher, or relevant certifications (e.g., CASP+, CCSP, Cloud+, CSSLP).
• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking (preferred).
• Knowledge of SAP systems (such as SAP Business Suite, S/4
  
  HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs (preferred).
• Experience working with end‑user or developer communities (preferred).

• Deep technical experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, or generative AI.
• Strong background in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related discipline.
• Familiarity with modern AI patterns and architectures including agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, intelligent document processing, conversational AI, classification/anomaly detection, and the broader AI/ML tooling ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Python data science environments.
• Experience building large‑scale AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms (AWS experience desired but not required).

Base salary range: $ – $ USD annually. Your Amazon package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on factors such as experience and location.
