Audiovisual Engineer

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full‐time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Contract Audiovisual Engineer to support our team in Herndon, VA, to provide AV system design services. The AV engineering role will design, configure, and operate advanced AV systems for U.S. government customers.

• Survey, plan, develop, design, configure, and test multi‑classification AV solutions for government customers. Generate custom audiovisual system designs, including DSP layouts and systems configuration.
• Lead or attend customer stakeholder meetings to collect and document or validate system requirements. Research, identify, and recommend technology options to solve customer problems.
• Draft system engineering documentation, including signal flows, line diagrams, bills of materials, rack elevations, and cable plants.
• Support onsite installation of AV systems and lead system configuration phases. Coordinate with customer facilities teams and other onsite sub‑contractors and vendors during systems installation as required.
• Support the development of end‑user training materials and operations & maintenance plans.
• Perform in‑house testing and on‑site commissioning at client locations.
• Develop expertise in the industry through continuing training, certifications, and review of trade publications.

• 3+ years of related work experience for level 3; 5+ years for level 4.
• Must be able to travel to various job sites as needed.
• AV systems field installation experience.
• Position is for first shift but may require occasional compensated, ad‑hoc support after hours.
• Adjudicated Counterintelligence Polygraph.

• Associate degree or higher.
• AVIXA CTS certification.
• DSP platform experience (Biamp, QSC, etc.).
• Experience with Crestron, Extron, and Think logical systems.
• Adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph.

Pay Rate Range: 65 - 70 USD hourly
