Job Overview
AWS Engagement Security (Eng Sec) enables AWS colleagues, partners, and contractors to meet the AWS Security Bar. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build and operate large‑scale, distributed systems that power Eng Sec services. The role includes supporting AI/ML workloads, including large‑language‑model applications, and requires leadership of infrastructure design, implementation, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure that leverages AI for faster, more resilient services.
- Develop automation tools and frameworks to reduce manual operational work.
- Support AI/ML applications.
- Own the operational health of services, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues across the full stack.
- Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, and efficiency through data‑driven analysis.
- Participate in on‑call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
- Collaborate with security and ML teams to improve system architecture and operational excellence.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
- Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
- AWS certification such as AWS Solutions Architect or similar cloud certification.
- 3+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, or Dev Ops experience.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
- Experience with application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, or secure infrastructure.
- Experience with databases (SQL, No
SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis). - Knowledge of ML frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor Flow) and models such as BERT, GPT‑2/3, or computer vision models.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Python scripting.
