NW Deployment Build Lead I, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers ensuring continuous access for customers. This role focuses on deploying cutting‑edge server technologies and resolving data center technical impairments to launch new network capacity at local data center level.

• Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams.
• Perform process improvement by gathering data on failures or waste and working with supporting teams to minimize or eliminate them.
• Conduct rigorous hardware verification inspections to ensure quality on server racks, networking devices, and related components.
• Launch new network capacity and assist Deployment Technicians on heavy deployment days or with the Cabling team.
• Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions with a focus on improvement.

• Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
• Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction works.
• Stay customer focused, exhibit excellent judgment, and maintain high standards.
• Dive deep into details, strive for innovation and simplification, and inspire passion in others.
• Develop strong negotiation, communication, project management, and reporting skills; be results oriented and think big.

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 2+ years of experience in computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
• Experience in large‑scale data center network implementations and support.
• Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.
• Experience with IT best‑practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
