Infra De Technician, DCC Communities

Join the Network & Cable Decommissioning (NCD) team as a Decommissioning Technician to recover capacity by safely removing legacy network equipment and old cabling infrastructure from data center facilities.

• Physically decommission cable infrastructure in a data‑center environment.
• Recover cabling infrastructure and sanitize legacy abandoned cable.
• Manage assigned work and priorities through a ticketing system or workflows.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders via the ticketing system.
• Co‑ordinate and deliver multiple tasks concurrently.
• Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain data‑center cleanliness.
• Leverage logical tools and systems provided by the organization.
• Follow all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove obstacles.
• Read and comprehend datacenter build documentation and site‑specific layout material.
• Travel within the geographical work area; up to 25% travel outside the traditional work area may be required.
• Scope effort assigned, validate all work is ready for decommissioning, create change requests, and execute tasks in a timely manner.
• Document all efforts via the ticketing system.
• Work at heights, including on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts, adhering to all safety protocols.

• 1+ years of experience with computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data‑center operations, or technical project management.
• Understanding of decommissioning hardware/software and procedures.

• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Up to 20% travel may be required.
