GIS DevOps Engineer

The role is contingent upon verification of clearance status and may require work 90% of the time in a SCIF environment with some on‑call or after‑hours onsite support. Westminster, CO; or St. Louis, MO.

We’re seeking a GIS Dev Ops Engineer to power the spatial intelligence that drives critical decisions. You will design and deliver robust, scalable services for ingesting, storing, and querying geospatial data at scale, and work to solve complex GIS backend challenges.

• Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes and Open Shift clusters across cloud and/or on‑prem environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support containerized application delivery.
• Implement infrastructure as code.
• Monitor platform performance, availability, and security; respond to incidents and optimize systems.
• Develop and maintain platform tooling, automation, and self‑service capabilities.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to improve platform usability and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance standards.
• Communicate with multidisciplinary SAFe Agile teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.

• U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly (or willingness to obtain CI poly).
• Minimum of 14 years of total professional experience in a technical support role.
• Demonstrated technical experience with Dev Sec Ops .
• Worked with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with Red Hat Open Shift.
• Proficiency in container technologies such as Docker or CRI‑O.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI).
• Open‑source and custom application deployments and maintenance experience.
• Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums.
• Willingness to work 90% or as needed in a SCIF environment.
• Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field.

• Strong scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding of networking, security, and Linux systems administration.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, or CKS).
• Familiarity with policy and security tools (e.g., OPA, Kyverno).
• Experience with hybrid or multi‑cloud platform architectures.
• Background in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices.
• Experience working with geospatial technology and tools.
• CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access.
• Experience or support of military/intelligence or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus.

The starting pay for this position will fall within the range of $ to $, determined by job‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
