Description

Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team seeks a highly skilled Engagement Manager (EM) to lead delivery of complex cloud solution projects. The role blends technical expertise with project leadership to drive successful AWS-based implementations. The EM bridges business requirements with technical solutions, facilitates technical discussions, and ensures alignment with customer outcomes. Applying AWS frameworks such as Well‑Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework and demonstrating technical credibility, the EM distills customer needs into clear technical requirements, decomposes complex problems, and makes informed trade‑off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.

The EM is expected to hold relevant AWS certifications, develop domain‑specific expertise, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

• Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects.
• Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning.
• Bridge business requirements with technical solutions and facilitate engineering discussions to align with customer business outcomes.
• Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements mapped to business outcomes.
• Decompose complex technical problems into actionable deliverable solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards.
• Validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of cloud computing experience.
• Experience in project management of technical programs.
• 5+ years of customer‑facing, large‑scale implementation consulting experience across multiple cross‑functional teams and hands‑on experience with enterprise‑level IT projects that followed documented methodologies such as Agile and used project management tool sets (Confluence, Jira, etc) and source code management products.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph (must be a US Citizen).

• 1+ years of professional work experience, or experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
• Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
• Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well‑Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior technical decision‑makers.
• Experience supporting National Security mission systems and representing AWS within the customer's environment, driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade‑offs, best practices, project management, and risk mitigation.
• Hold at least one active project management certification and have delivered cloud engagements presented to C‑level executives and technical subject matter experts, balanced multiple stakeholders, and managed projects with 10+ resources, 6+ months, or $250k+ contract value.
