As a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will build technical relationships with customers of all sizes and operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring they get the most out of the cloud at every stage of their journey. You will manage the overall technical relationship between AWS and our customers, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to accelerate their challenging, mission‑critical projects.
Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, sharing their needs and wants to inform the roadmap of AWS features. In this role, you will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define or invent cloud‑native reference architectures for a variety of use cases. You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS technology and industry trends (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
This role will include up to 30% travel.
Your role as a Solutions Architect helps organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud‑based solutions, and provide advice on strategies for migrating existing workloads to the cloud and innovating with cloud‑native services. You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise customers through your passion for educating, training, designing and building cloud solutions. As a trusted customer advocate, you are responsible for guiding organizations in adopting advanced cloud‑based solutions and migrating their workloads to the cloud.
You'll be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to build mindshare and increase adoption of AWS. You should be able to interact and communicate effectively with various teams at AWS, including services, marketing, and professional services, while also representing your own team to executive management.
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
- Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
