Senior VDI Administrator
Location:
Herndon, VA (Hybrid - Minimum 3 Days Onsite Weekly)
Requirements
* Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold only U.S. citizenship
* Must currently reside in Virginia within 30 miles of Herndon, VA
* Onsite attendance required at least 3x per week (subject to change based on business needs)
* Travel expenses will not be reimbursed
* Potential for full-time conversion
Overview
We are seeking a Senior VDI Administrator to support a large enterprise software client. This is a hands-on systems/cloud administration role responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Server and Application Services (SAS) environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VDI technologies, enterprise Windows administration, cloud infrastructure, and secure enterprise environments. This role will work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, and Cyber Security teams to ensure system availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.
Required Skills
* 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Cloud Administration
* Expert-level experience with Citrix and/or Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
* Strong Windows administration skills including:
* Active Directory
* DNS
* Group Policy
* Vulnerability Management
* Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA
Preferred Skills
* Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, AZ-900, AZ-104, or Azure Solutions Architect
* Experience with SIEM tools, backup solutions, and infrastructure monitoring
* Knowledge of NIST 800-53 or enterprise security best practices
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation pipelines, and configuration management
Responsibilities
* Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise server/application infrastructure
* Perform installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, and upgrades across the SAS environment
* Lead vulnerability management, troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis
* Develop and maintain operational processes, documentation, system diagrams, and standards
* Support capacity planning, change management, SLA processes, and 24/7 operational readiness
* Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on infrastructure improvements and support activities
* Serve as a technical SME for Cloud Operations, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure teams
