Technical Infrastructure Program Manager II, DC Power Utilization Management (Soapstone)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role focuses on global data center inventory and power topology accuracy, helping to drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
ADay in the Life
The Soapstone TIPM’s responsibilities are split between program or project initiatives to support capacity delivery and operational ticket-based tasks such as creation and configuration of rack positions within the virtual data hall inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Work with stakeholders to define requirements and processes.
- Manage the dependencies and interfaces between projects and/or project deliverables, negotiating trade-offs.
- Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
- Own end-to-end responsibility for program execution and success.
- Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
- Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large, diverse groups informed of progress and obstacles.
- Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
- Develop and implement scalable, data‑driven process improvement/automated solutions.
- Assist in daily operational tasks as part of the overall Data Center Delivery workflow.
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (e.g., network, data center, hardware, software).
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance, or a related technical or quantitative field.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline, or 5+ years of working in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation experience.
The base salary range for this position is USD – per year (USA, VA, Herndon). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
