Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Job Description

AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

• Scale support of several data center locations and provide day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
• Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
• Leverage experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks, including implementation and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles and complete customer requests and projects through ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
• Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
• Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
• Perform bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.

• At least 1 year of computer networking experience.
• At least 1 year of Linux operating system experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

• Experience working in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
• Industry-standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+).
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as telnet, test-net connection, tracert, iperf, dig, and packet capture tools.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
