Job Description
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Responsibilities- Scale support of several data center locations and provide day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
- Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Leverage experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks, including implementation and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles and complete customer requests and projects through ticketing systems.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
- Operate in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Perform bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
- At least 1 year of computer networking experience.
- At least 1 year of Linux operating system experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience working in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Industry-standard certification (CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+).
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as telnet, test-net connection, tracert, iperf, dig, and packet capture tools.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
