Big Data Analyst; TS​/SCI

Overview

Vantor is seeking a Big Data Analyst to join our team in Herndon, Virginia, with occasional travel to the customer site in Springfield, VA. The role supports our mission partners and involves close collaboration with software developers, ETL engineers, and cybersecurity teams to develop and maintain big-data applications.

• Perform and develop dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.
• Shape data engineering approaches for analytic tradecraft improvements within applications.
• Identify and document gaps within our data corpus and analytical capabilities.
• Work hand‑in‑hand with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as changes are implemented.
• Provide SME support for end‑users on data or application questions and requests.

• Current/active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, or similar role.
• Experience formulating repeatable processes for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.
• In‑depth knowledge of technical data types, especially Technical Telemetry, cellular, and Wi‑Fi data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑starter with strong time‑management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
• Experience in fast‑paced environments and collaboration with Software Engineers to validate custom application implementations.
• Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, SQL, Spark, or PySpark.
• Must be able to work on‑site in Herndon, VA, and travel to Springfield, VA as needed.

• Ability to translate technical conclusions and present them to broader audiences.
• Experience conducting geospatial analysis, including Activity‑Based Intelligence or Pattern‑of‑Life analysis.
• Experience applying, improving, and documenting innovative analytic methodologies.
• Experience with Elasticsearch/Kibana.
• Customer‑facing experience.
• Familiarity with Git Lab and the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks or Apache Zeppelin.
• Experience working with other intel analysts and/or special operations customers.

Base pay range for the Washington, DC metropolitan area: $ – $ annually. Salary varies by location.
