Senior Principal Oracle Database Administrator

Chantilly, VA

While you’ll have access to other DBA staff, you’ll be expected to be a self‑starter and multitask while communicating effectively with the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting medium‑to‑large‑scale Oracle databases.

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL
  8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle
  19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle RAC
  19c.
• Performing RHEL
  8.x and Oracle
  19c upgrades/patching.
• Periodically validating Oracle
  19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance (with AWR reports, database views, etc).
• Providing on‑demand support for database‑related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address unsolvable issues.
• Working with product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location.
• Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products as a first line of support.
• Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports.
• Installing firmware updates on physical components such as HPE servers and HP SANs.
• Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in‑depth trip reports where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Primary and Secondary Oracle
19c database RAC servers on physical hardware.

Database Size: up to 1.5PB, with growth at 10TB per month.

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and work experience.
• At least one DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT levelII (2) or higher.
• Ability to obtain required work authorizations under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations.
• 14+ years experience performing tasks including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting RHEL
  8.x and Oracle
  19c environments, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, support, and security.
• Deep understanding of Oracle RDBMS, partitioning, text indexing, grid, ASM, RMAN, SQL, PL/SQL, RAC, and automation scripting.
• Knowledge of routing, switching, firewall rules, and TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/HTTPS protocols.
• Experience creating, renewing, installing, and troubleshooting secure certificates.
• Server hardware installation, maintenance, and patching experience.

• Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Gov Cloud, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with N‑Tier architecture and Java application servers.
• Oracle Certifications (OCA, OCP, OCM).
• Certifications from Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, Symantec, or VMware.

Base salary range: $151,800–$187,499

USD, with additional bonus plans.
